What a difficult season it has been!
Waipu
One 5 day old chick transferred during storm to zoo where it is doing well.
Mangawhai
Last egg after stint in zoo incubator, was transferred to a Waipu nest where it hatched and so far has been doing well. Hopefully second egg has hatched.
Pakiri
Birds have shown no inclination to nest and lay eggs this season but plenty of practising.
Papakanui
Chick RpG-YM, looking very grown up and being fed by parents.
Zoo
Now have 8 healthy chicks hatched from uplifted eggs from Waipu and Mangawhai, 7 of which are ready for aviary in dunes when weather clears.
